‘Iona’ - Grandmother Oak knot necklace
With the wisdom of one who has stood for hundreds of years.. Grandmother Oak has a presence ..
A wise old spirit.
As she watches the world pass by with increasingly rapid steps… she breathes her essential oils into the air, and stretches her solid roots still deeper into the earth, a symbol of wisdom, strength and endurance.
Each evening in our walk in our woods, we pass Grandmother Oak and stop to pass the time of day. We greet her and she greets us and we thank her for her watchful protection.
One evening we asked her if she would mind if we took a small green twig to tie into a knot. A powerful symbol of eternity and love, bound to the strength and wisdom of the oak wood.
We then cast the knot into solid silver and teamed this powerful talisman with a beautiful labradorite for protection and intuition.
A little bird, hand modelled and cast in silver, joined us and we added a tiny oak leaf to the bottom of the necklace.
Iona is set into a star studded 18” silver chain and hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
